BAPTISM....The Bible records for us clearly the mode and method of baptism. Our first example is found in Acts 8:35-39. First of all, we see in verse 37 that salvation precedes baptism. In verse 38 we see that "they went down both into the water" and he was baptized. the word "baptize" means "immersion". The second example is found in Romans 6:3-6. In verse 4 we see the symbolism of baptism. It is a picture of what Jesus Christ has already done for us and by being baptized we are identifying ourselves with Him. Baptism pictures the death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord.
